On June 8, 2018, company founders Otto Feldbinder and Jan-Dirk Beckmann bid farewell to all employees at the headquarters in Winsen (Luhe). Naturally, the two founders also took the opportunity to say goodbye to the staff at the site in Lutherstadt Wittenberg.
In an open-air setting and relaxed atmosphere, Peter Boost, the operations manager at the location, opened the dignified farewell speeches. In a traditional manner, he presented a small vehicle model as a keepsake of their life's work on behalf of the new management. Following this, works council chairman Jörg Bauer shared honorable words, speaking of the "heart and passion" with which Otto Feldbinder and Jan-Dirk Beckmann led the company through both good and challenging times. He then unveiled a gift from the employees: a large-format picture of the Wittenberg staff. Dirk Feldbinder, representing the new management, spoke to the two founders. With wit and irony, he presented a voucher for the company canteen as a thank you for the past 43 years.
It became emotional when Otto Feldbinder shared a few words of farewell. Clearly moved and proud of what he and Jan-Dirk Beckmann had built, especially in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, he said, "This actually exceeded our capabilities." He added, "But we made it, thanks to loyal customers and the dedication of our employees." He was very pleased with the lifetime dining voucher, joking that he only has a small pension and is now a citizen of Wittenberg.
"We older ones say thank you today!" said Jan-Dirk Beckmann in his farewell speech. He wished all employees much happiness and health before opening the grill buffet. "Now we’ve done it."
On behalf of the new management and staff, we wish our founders much health and joy in life.
