On April 3 and 4, 2019, the 1,000th Feldbinder vehicle was handed over to our long-time English customer, Turners Soham Ltd., in Lutherstadt Wittenberg. Feldbinder and Turners have maintained a very close business relationship since 1991. This vehicle is particularly special for us as a manufacturer—it is the 60,000th vehicle order since the company was founded by Otto Feldbinder and Jan-Dirk Beckmann in 1975. The vehicle presentation took place in front of the famous Theses Door at the Castle Church in Wittenberg.
Company owner Paul Day and his two employees, Timothy King and Philip Walker, were very satisfied with their anniversary vehicle. "This vehicle is something truly special for us," they agreed. "We have always appreciated the reliability, lightness, and innovative capability of Feldbinder. During our factory tour today, we saw the great commitment of all employees at Feldbinder in maintaining high product quality. We could see that thanks to the extensive know-how of the employees, our requirements for the vehicles become a reality." Dirk Feldbinder, Dr. Nina Lorea, and Wolf-Dietrich Kley (management), Peter Boost (operations management), Karsten Bergmann (sales management), as well as Ian Swan and Shaun Hurst from Feldbinder UK Ltd. were present from Feldbinder.
The anniversary vehicle is the second in a series of ten being delivered to this major English customer. The tank semi-trailer, with a capacity of 28 m³ and a weight of just 6.5 tons, is specially designed for transporting liquid food products and will be used to transport glucose in the future. It will be showcased at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham starting April 30, 2019, along with the 800th DAF tractor unit in the Turners fleet at the Feldbinder exhibition stand. Other highlights at the show in Birmingham will include the newly developed Silo4.0 technology and a pneumatic swing dome cover.
